WATCH: Ex-NBA guard Gilbert Arenas continues diss Spurs' Kawhi Leonard

Arenas, Leonard

It appears former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas is continuing his campaign to call out San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard.

First, he questioned whether or not Leonard was really that important to the Spurs and referred to him as a system player. Then, he called Leonard an over-rated NBA player.

Now comes the next chapter in Arenas' aim at Kawhi.

During Complex's "Out of Bounds", the topic of Leonard and his reported impasse between his camp and the Jordan Brand came up. When asked about the situation, Arenas stated Kawhi should have just taken the initial offer because he isn't a "signature shoe guy."

"He's not a signature shoe guy. He's not the guy who's going to rev up shoe sales. No guy, no kid out there is going to say 'I'm going to go get the Kawhi Leonards'."

And if that wasn't enough from Arenas, he continued to question whether or not the Spurs really need him in uniform considering how the team has done this season without him.

Kawhi is not playing. The Spurs should be at least 7 or 8 (in West playoff standings) with the caliber of player we're giving him."
But his team is not affected when he's not on the court.
If he was playing all season, they'll still be third (in West playoff standings).

Take a deep breath Gibert.

Kawhi is one of the best of not the best defensive players in the league. He has the hardware to prove it being named the back-to-back NBA Defensive Player of the Year (2015-16) and has steadily increased his offensive output each season since joining the NBA.

In addition, Leonard holds best winning percentage in NBA history with 76.4% and scored in double figures in 110 consecutive games in his career. Not to mention Kawhi is one of just three players in NBA history to win both NBA Defensive Player of the Year and NBA Finals MVP (Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon are the others).

And this season the Spurs are struggling without Kawhi. They don't have his offensive and defensive threat on the court and without him, they may miss the postseason entirely.

And I don't know about you but I'd be OK with sporting a pair of Kawhi Leonard sigature shoes.
