San Antonio Spurs owner Julianna Holt divorcing former Spurs owner Peter Holt
SAN ANTONIO - The first family of the San Antonio Spurs is reportedly divorcing after 30 years of marriage.
Current Spurs owner Julianna Holt said "the marriage has become insupportable" in a document filed Dec. 22 to the Bexar County District Court. Julianna and her husband, Peter, have owned the Spurs since 1996.
"... discord of conflict of personalities... that destroys the legitimate ends of the marriage relationship and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation," the statement continued.
Over a year ago, Peter stepped down as chairman and CEO, turning the team over to his wife, who replaced him on the NBA's Board of Governors.
Now Julianna is filing for divorce.
She could continue to run the team and keep the Spurs in the family by turning it over to John Peter and Corrina, the two children who are playing a large part in running the families other businesses.
Or Julianna could sell the team. Only time will tell how this news will affect the ownership of the franchise.
