The San Antonio Spurs aren't playing up to snuff as the regular-season winds down.

The team is currently on a 2-game losing streak, have dropped to seventh in the West playoff race and their schedule is only going to get tougher with dates against the NBA's best left on their schedule.

Things are looking shaky in the Alamo City as the postseason inches closer and it remains to be seen if the Spurs even make the playoffs all together.

But digging in their collective heels and figuring things out fast is all San Antonio can do right now.

“You have no choice, you can’t give in. If you give in, that shows your character," said LaMarcus Aldridge. "I don’t think anyone on this team is a quitter, so we have to figure it out."

If the Spurs miss the postseason, it would be the first time since 1997 and their recently play may not help avoiding that mark.

The team is 1-4 in their last five outings, and have seen leads evaporate in the fourth period.

Said Aldridge, "Guys have to keep pounding it. We have to take care of the ball and create offense and play better defense.”

Hope could be on the way if reports are true Kawhi Leonard is set to return versus the Pelicans this week. His boost on the offensive and defensive end could be what the doctored ordered for the Spurs however will it be too late?

While other teams are raring to go with the playoffs nearing, the Spurs and Kawhi will need time to develop chemistry and get his game-legs back for the postseason push.

If they even get there.

"We are going through an ugly stretch right now. We have to figure it out," said Aldridge.
