According to a report from Yahoo! Sports, former San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has signed a new multi year deal with New Balance sneakers.
Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard has agreed to a multiyear endorsement deal with New Balance, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Leonard, 27, will serve as the face of New Balance basketball, with the company looking to re-establish itself in the basketball market.
During Leonard’s tenure in San Antonio, he was with the Jordan Brand and had sneakers with his logo.
However, Leonard and his camp were reportedly displeased with the Jordan Brand and lack of a signature in his name.
Ultimately, that relationship ended.
Moreover, Leonard was seeking a large market to net a signature sneaker and bigger deal and reportedly didn’t think San Antonio would be the best spot for that goal.
