Friday Night Fever: Madison Mavericks

It is hard to believe, but we are past the official halfway point of the high school season. By now, most teams know what they are, and the Madison Mavericks, think they are a playoff team.

That may sound strange when you're talking about a team that's 1-3, but with Madison there's a catch.

Tonight is their first district game, and district records are what counts in a playoff race. Reagan is a perennial district champ. Churchill and Johnson are playoff staples, so that leaves the four other teams in the district to fight for one spot, and the Mavs like their chances.
