SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Commanders fans, don't lose your momentum!
In the Alliance of American Football's (AAF) second week, the San Antonio Commanders fell short 37-29 Sunday afternoon against the Orlando Apollos.
But the real story is the city's continued support of football in San Antonio. After leading the league in attendance for its home opener more fans showed up to the Commanders' second game (29,176). The average attendance for Commanders games is 28,516, easily the best mark in the Alliance of American Football.
Indeed, the Commanders seem to have an increasingly sizable following.
San Antonio (1-1) faces the San Diego Fleet Sunday night game in its third game of the season. The game will be televised at 7 p.m. on NFL Network.
