High school football coach saves driver stuck in flood waters
SAN ANTONIO —
A high school football coach is being hailed a hero after he waded into flood waters and rescued a woman.
Coach Danny Dearman jumped in to help stranded drivers in Caddo Mills, Texas, near Dallas-Fort Worth, as his wife recorded video on her cell phone.
He walked over to a woman who was trapped in her car, then put her on his back and walked her to higher ground.
While many say he's a hero, Dearman says he didn't do anything special.
"I don't think I did anything that anybody else wouldn't have done," he said, adding, "Hopefully this will be an example for them, you know because it goes beyond football, it's about life."
