Expired food fails Casa Sol Mexican Restaurant's health inspection
After finding expired food in their cooler and food not properly stored correctly, a traditional Mexican restaurant with a great track record here in San Antonio failed its latest health inspection.
Casa Sol Mexican restaurant located off San Pedro on the north side, scored a 64.
Inspectors cited the restaurant for:
- Expired food stored in walk in cooler.
- Poisonous or toxic chemicals in a container that was not labeled.
- Their back kitchen door was propped open, when it should be closed at all times to prevent pests from flying in.
- Food was not properly stored in packages, covered containers, or wrappings to prevent cross contamination.
A deeper look into this restaurant, shows that it passed previous inspections over the last year:
In July, it scored a 88
In February, it scored a 92
And in October 2017, Casa Sol got its highest score of 96.
Some of the violations have been corrected and the rest have to be taken care of by February.
