How a puppet show saved San Antonio history
SAN ANTONIO —
Today we celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founding of Mission San Antonio de Valero, which would only later become known as the Alamo.
And as we begin 'Commemorative Week' celebrating our history, clheck out my story about how the women of the San Antonio Conservation Society used a puppet show back in 1924 to help keep alive much of our history.
And if you think you know the story already - think again!
It wasn't just about saving the San Antonio River.
And don't miss today's reenactment of the founding at 11:00 am at San Pedro Springs, 2200 N. Flores.
I hope to see some of you there!
