Study finds some candles have toxic ingredients bad for your health
Candles are a popular way to freshen up your home but researchers now say some types of candles have toxic ingredients that could be bad for your health.
A Southern Carolina State University study found long term exposure to emissions of paraffin wax candles could cause poor indoor air quality. Dr. Devi Nampiaparampil said the candles can release chemicals like toluene and benzene into the environment.
These chemicals can contribute to allergies and asthma. Researchers say to watch out for lead which is in many candle wicks.
