Mansfield woman indicted for murder after allegedly starving her mother to death

A Mansfield woman who was taken care of her 77-year-old mother has been indicted on charges of murder on Wednesday.

According to the Richland County Prosecutor's Office, Jennifer Sweat, 44, was indicted by a grand jury on two counts of murder, two counts of involuntary manslaughter, and two counts of failure to provide for an impaired person.

Police found Linda Sweat's body on October 23 in the 300 block of Second Avenue. They said she weighed 44 pounds and had been bedridden.

Jennifer is being held on a $500,000 bond and had been initially charged with involuntary manslaughter.
