The Northside Independent School District increased its police presence at O'Connor High School on Monday after a student contacted the district to report his own email.

According to a district spokesperson, the student sent an email to the entire senior class at O'Connor that contained a quote from a school shooter in California.

He did not intend to send the email to the entire class, according to the spokesperson, and contacted the NISD Safeline (the district's police department dispatch) himself after realizing the error.

As a result, Northside ISD police are investigating the matter, although the district says there is no credible threat to the school.

Parents received a call from the school on Monday morning explaining the situation. School was open as usual.

No other information was released regarding the student.
