MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) -- Hurricane Florence has forced our sister station in New Bern, North Carolina, to evacuate.
WCTI-TV NewsChannel 12 said in a Facebook post around 10:15 p.m. Thursday:
"We had to leave our station due to rising flood waters from Hurricane Florence."
WCTI-TV has continued to post on social media and its website since evacuating.
According to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Category 1 Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach Friday morning, bringing with it maximum sustained winds of 90 mph.
New Bern is roughly 115 miles southeast of Raleigh, North Carolina.
The City of New Bern reported Friday that about 150 people in the area were in need of rescuing.
