A baby has died after being found unresponsive in a vehicle Friday.

Emergency crews responded to reports of an unresponsive infant around 5 p.m. at the Apple Creek Learning Center located in the 800 block of South Birch Street.

According to Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mark Opgrande, the four-month-old girl was left in her grandmother's car.

We're told the grandmother, who has custody of the child, intended to drop the baby off at the daycare before heading to work, but reportedly forgot. Officials say around 5 p.m., when the grandmother went to the facility to pick up her grandchild, they discovered the baby had been left in the vehicle, and was deceased.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office is assisting the Luther Police Department with the investigation.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Offices says investigators will submit their findings to the District Attorneys Office.
