UVALDE, Texas – The Uvalde Williamson-Dickie facility is closing in December, according to employees.
Employees tell us they arrived at work, were given a file with letters containing the news, and told to go home for the day.
The 60-day notice came as a surprise to many of them, it said the terminations would begin in early October.
Some employees said they were offered severance packages and the ability to transfer within the company and that about 150 employees will be impacted by the layoffs.
The expected date of closing is Dec., 31, 2018. We have reached out to Williamson-Dickie to confirm the layoffs, but have yet to hear back. This story will be updated as more comes down.
