TxDOT launching I-10 Safety Task Force
SAN ANTONIO - TxDOT is forming a Safety Task Force for I-10.
TxDOT is doing it in response to the number of calls from concerned drivers about a stretch of I-10 from Loop 1604 to State Highway 46. It's an area that's currently under construction.
The task force will be made up of construction and traffic safety patrol.
They will analyze a number of factors hoping to reduce accidents.
They are reconsidering re-striping lanes in construction zones and adding signage.
The agency said drivers also need to be vigilant.
"A lot of times we have to remind the public, that this is teamwork," TxDOT Spokesperson Hernan Rozemberg." There is a lot of speeding going on there and we want to remind the public to stick to the speed limit."
Rozemberg said the task force will not cost any extra money.
And he said you may see some changes on I-10 before the holidays.
