Some astonishing news came out on a report that revealed the longest-kept vehicle in the state of Texas.
You'd think it would be a Ford F-150 or Chevrolet Silverado 1500, but you would be wrong.
According to iSeeCars data, the average car buyer keeps their vehicle for 7.4 years after purchasing it new. However, there are certain cars that owners are more likely to keep for longer. In Texas, the longest-kept car is the Toyota 4Runner, which is kept on average for 8.6 years.
The top vehicle kept the longest by owners is a tie between the Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Corvette with an average of 9 years.
"While the average car buyer gets rid of their car 7.4 years after purchasing it new, there is a wide variety of cars that owners are more likely to keep for longer,” said iSeeCars CEO Phong Ly. “Many factors could contribute to a car’s longevity such as its function as shown by the dominance of family vehicles, or because of a fondness of a timeless classic like the Chevrolet Corvette.”
