'The Stars behind the Stripes' event honors military spouses
SAN ANTONIO -- Behind many soldiers is a strong spouse who is also making sacrifices. A local organization wants to help honor those spouses and they're asking you to get involved. Retired General Jeffrey Kendall and Jeannette Robinson with #10000 Strong stopped by News 4 San Antonio's Evening Break to share how their organization is working to unite and support our local military community. The organization will host "Stars Behind the Stripes" on Saturday, November 19. It's a fun night of wining and dining presented to honor the spouses of our Armed Forces. They are the ones who maintain the homes and hearts of our Marines, airman, soldiers, sailors, and coast guardsmen, and it's time to show them how much they mean to us all.
Emmy Award-winning co-anchor and photojournalist for News 4 San Antonio Randy Beamer will emcee the event. Guests include author and motivational speaker Sheila Callaham and "The Velvet Crooner" Brad Normandeau. Plus, Dr. Kat Strus, Lt. Col, USAF, will perform our National Anthem.
