HOUSTON (KTRK) - A high school student in Texas is being praised for his heroic actions after he stopped an apparent violent crime in progress.

Luciano Villalobos, 18, was working at a grocery store when he heard screams coming from a library parking lot across the street.

He says a man, who has been identified as 45-year-old Leonard E. Jones, had picked up a rock and hit the woman in the face.

"I was screaming 'don't you ever put your hands on a woman.' I stopped him, because I knew if I didn't do anything he would have majorly hurt her,” Villalobos said.

Police arrested and charged Jones.
