Superintendent announces Chief Arredondo has been put on administrative leave
SAN ANTONIO – Since the horrible tragedy that occurred at Robb Elementary, many questions have still remained unanswered. Dr. Hall Harrell, Superintendent of Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District has just announced that Chief Arredondo has been put on administrative leave.
Dr. Harrell made the announcement on Wednesday. He says that he made the decision because of the lack of clarity that remains and the unknown timing of when he will receive the results of the investigation.
He also mentioned that Lieutenant Mike Hernandez will take over the duties of UCISD Chief of Police.
“From the beginning of this horrible event, I shared that the district would wait until the investigation was complete before making personnel decisions. Today, I am still without details of the investigations being conducted by various agencies. Because of the lack of clarity that remains and the unknown timing of when I will receive the results of the investigations, I have made the decision to place Chief Arredondo on administrative leave effective on this date,” said Dr. Harrell.
