SAN ANTONIO - An investigation is underway after officials think someone intentionally set a South Side apartment unit on fire.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday at the Rio Springs Apartments off West Hutchins Place near Interstate 35.

Officials say firefighters found a pile of trash on fire inside a vacant unit. They said it appears that it was intentionally set on fire before crews arrived.

The entire apartment building had to be evacuated. Luckily, nobody was hurt and the damage was minimal.

Arson investigators are on the scene.
