SAN ANTONIO- UT Health San Antonio is urging the public to practice social distancing.

They say to be meticulous when hand washing, cleaning surfaces and covering coughs and sneezes. Now that community transmission has been seen, the mandates for social distancing are more important than ever.

When shopping for groceries and medications, going out to walk or jog or filling cars with gas, it is imperative to stay six feet away from others.

Social distancing can be difficult and hard to practice, but without treatments or a vaccine for the coronavirus, this is the most effective tool to slow the pandemic.

Our response as people and as a community will determine how COVID-19 will run its course in San Antonio and South Texas.

UT Health is asking for your support and commitment to preserve health care resources and protect one another.
