Six San Antonio mayors unite to oppose Props A, B and C
SAN ANTONIO —
Six San Antonio mayors announced a "united" effort Monday to defeat Propositions A, B and C in the upcoming election.
Ron Nirenberg, Julian Castro, Phil Hardberger, Henry Cisneros, Ed Garza and Lila Cockrell will hold a press conference Monday at 2 p.m. to discuss a new "GoVoteNO" ad and explain how the opposition misled voters.
The ad claimed San Antonio's City Council raised property taxes the last six years, but Nirenberg said the ad is a "lie."
"A tax increase for city residents hasn’t been approved in decades,” Nirenberg said. "Spreading untruths to divide our community is a dangerous game. I am proud to stand with San Antonio mayors, community and business leaders who want to keep San Antonio moving forward in a way that benefits every neighborhood in our city.”
