SAN ANTONIO – Rain is back in the forecast as deep tropical moisture begins to move over the region. We don't expect a washout Thursday or for that matter Friday; both days will offer some dry periods and even some sun at times.
“Rain chances will increase heading into the weekend,” explains Meteorologist Jeannette Calle. “With a widespread two to four inches of rain possible, a flash flood watch may be issued.”
That said, it would be wise to take an umbrella with you, just in case. Friday's rain chance may actually be higher in the evening and favoring the western half of the area near stronger lift in the atmosphere. Saturday has a solid rain chance in all areas from the morning to evening.
“We are in the second wettest September ever, but we could take over the first-place spot by the end of the weekend,” adds Calle. “So far this month, 14.88-inches of rain has fallen at the airport.”
We may see ‘some’ drying Sunday with the best rain chance pushed to mainly areas east of I-35. But this new pattern will not last just a day or two, but will last for at least the next seven days.
