SAPA! issues call for fosters to help pets rescued from areas ravaged by Harvey
SAN ANTONIO -- San Antonio Pets Alive! is making an appeal to anyone who can step forward and provide a temporary foster home for pets rescued from areas affected by Hurricane Harvey.
Monday, San Antonio Pets Alive! rescued 26 animals from Houston. But the need for animal rescues due to Hurricane Harvey is enormous.
Dogs and cats continue to be displaced, traumatized, and injured as the flooding continues in the Houston area, and SAPA! plans to return this week to save an additional 30 to 70 animals. To make room for the incoming animals, SAPA! must move as many animals as possible out of their sheltering facilities.
New fosters can fill out an application at the San Antonio Pets Alive! website at SanAntonioPetsAlive.org.
Existing fosters who are already approved, and who can take an adult dog, kitten, or adult cat into their home for at least 2 weeks, can pick up an animal at the Marbach facility during designated pick-up windows.
