San Antonio law enforcement ramps up efforts to curb street racing with new state laws

SAN ANTONIO - Local law enforcement groups are working to prevent street racing and keep roads safe.

Some new state laws are giving police and prosecutors more tools to stop racing and "street takeovers."

Including laws that make it easier for police to seize and impound the cars involved.

You can get in trouble for taking part in street takeovers and for recording them.

Local "car clubs" say they're taking precautions.

The Bexar County sheriff's office and SAPD are out in full force to crack down on illegal operations.
