SAN ANTONIO - San Antonio Pets Alive! is asking for help to treat a dog who was initially placed on the pre-euthanasia list due to the worst case of mange the organization had ever seen.
Dante was recently found wandering in a field. It was a Good Samaritan who called Animal Care Services, who saw the dog in tremendous pain.
Dante also is suffering from an upper respiratory infection, which needs to be treated immediately because it can develop into pneumonia, bronchitis or chronic cough.
San Antonio Pets Alive! veterinarian believes Dante has a good chance at a full recovery and hair growth, but the medical costs will be expensive, as he'll need ongoing treatments, specialized wound care, oral medication for his skin and upper respiratory infection and ongoing care.
San Antonio Pets Alive! will care for these abandoned animals. To help cover the expenses and medical costs of these puppies, donate at www.sapetsalive.org/medical.
