Report: SAISD elementary school teacher repeatedly punched in the face by parent
A local teacher is recovering after an angry parent allegedly attacked her claiming the teacher physically assaulted her child.
San Antonio Independent School District police were called to Charles C Ball Elementary School at about 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 6 for reports of an assault on a teacher.
When officers arrived, the teacher said the mother of a first grader walked up to the entrance of the school yelling "You put your hands on my child. You slapped my child." The parent allegedly continued yelling and cussing at her before she started punching the teacher multiple times in the face, according to a district police report obtained by WOAI/KABB.
The teacher attempted to get away from the parent by going inside the building, but the parent followed and continued to attack her. District police were then called to the scene.
During an interview with a witness, the witness told officers she saw the mother walk up while talking on her cell phone and saying "B----, I'm about to get arrested cause no one is gonna hit my kid. I'm gonna f--- someone up right now."
Rivers and the school has filed a criminal trespass warning against the mother. The district investigated the parent's claim and "found no evidence that the teacher engaged in any wrong-doing," according to a district spokeswoman.
The teacher has been with the the district for 8 years.
