TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KEYE) -- According to a new affidavit, 48-year-old Charity Sunshine Ellis shot and killed her fiance, 37-year-old Bradley Cole Sullivan, after an argument over an unpaid utility bill.

Early in the morning on Sunday, Dec. 31, the Travis County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a woman requesting an ambulance in the 4800 block of Doss Road in northwest Travis County.

Deputies and Austin-Travis County EMS arrived on the scene, where they found Sullivan unresponsive with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:05 a.m.

In court documents, deputies say that Ellis stated "I shot him" when they arrived at the home.

Ellis allegedly told deputies that she shot Sullivan in the leg, but paramedics instead found a gunshot wound to his chest. A .22 caliber revolver was recovered from the ledge of a fire pit at the home.

When deputies searched Ellis, they allegedly found 8 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition in her right front pants pocket. According to the affidavit, Ellis said, unsolicited, "Oh look at that. There you go. The ones I didn't shoot him with."

According to court documents, Ellis was then told she was being arrested for murder, at which point police say she said she was going to kill herself and asked the police to kill her. She also allegedly stated she killed Sullivan.

A 15-year-old child in the home was interviewed by deputies. The child told investigators that they were woken up around 3: a.m. by Ellis and Sullivan arguing and that Ellis was telling Sullivan to get out because he didn't pay a utility bill.

The child said they heard gunshots fired outside the home, and heard Sullivan say "you shot me." Not long after, the 15-year-old saw Sullivan lying on the living room floor, breathing heavily and moaning in pain. The teenager says Ellis then told Sullivan he needed to drive himself to the hospital.

When Sullivan didn't respond, the child says that's when Ellis called 911.

Ellis is charged with murder. Her bond is set at $400,000.
