Police: Woman had 2 dead dogs, feces scattered around apartment
SAN ANTONIO - A woman was arrested in the torture and death of two dogs and another dog showed signs of neglect.
According to the arrest affidavit, Police said that on July 25, Adrianne Martinez, 46, was holding a Pit Bull in a what appeared to be a choke hold when they entered her back bedroom. Upon further investigation, police found two other deceased dogs that had blood around their muzzles and eyes.
One of the deceased dog, a black and gray Catahoula, was found with dog treats spread around its head and a decorative Christian cross was lying on its belly. The other deceased dog, a poodle, was found on the edge of the bed with its head draped over the side with blood coming from its mouth.
Police said that dog feces was scattered and the smell of feces and urine was all over the apartment.
Police were called to the apartment to execute an unrelated mental health warrant. A family member who spoke with police said that he was kicked out of the house by Martinez because he wanted her to accept treatment for Bipolar Disorder.
Martinez was charged with cruelty to non-livestock animals.
