UPDATE: The church, Frist Baptist in Vidor, has responded.

It says leaders at the Church do not know of any motivation but are cooperating fully with law enforcement.

You can read the entire release below.

SEGUIN, Texas - Police arrested Tony Albert, 33, Sunday after finding him armed with a loaded gun, allegedly on his way to "fulfill a prophecy" at a church.

Seguin Police say during an interview, Albert revealed he was looking for the First Baptist Church in Vidor, Texas. Vidor is near Beaumont.

After learning of this, the Vidor Police Department says it has contacted the pastor and are working with other officials to investigate.

The department also says family have told them Albert has a history of mental illness.

Seguin police say the 9mm Smith and Weston gun Albert was carrying was stolen from a home in Vidor, but it's unknown if he was a part of a burglary at the home.
