SAN ANTONIO — A police officer is in critical condition after he was hit by a car on the South Side.
Police said an officer was responding to the scene of a car accident Sunday at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and South Flores Street when he got out of his car and was hit from behind by a red compact car. The officer suffered massive head injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities said the driver stopped after hitting the officer and later told police she did not see him standing in the street.
Police said they do not believe alcohol was a factor and she is not facing charges for the accident.
