One dead, several injured during Far West Side crash
SAN ANTONIO - Police are investigating a crash that left one person dead and several other injured early Friday morning.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. near Loop 1604 and Highway 151.
Police said a the driver of a white car pulled out of a private drive-in and was hit by a Ford Expedition after it lost control and jumped a curb. Four passengers from the white car were transported to the hospital. Three of them suffered serious injuries and one of them was in critical condition.
Sadly, the driver of the white car was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Mario Velasquez Palau, according to police.
The Ford driver was evaluated at the scene and found to be intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter and three counts of intoxication assault.
Police are still investigating the crash.
