U.S. Customs and Border Protection

LAREDO, Texas - Border officials found 49 pounds of meth in a car at the Juarez-Lincoln International Bridge Saturday, leading to an arrest of a Mexican citizen from Nuevo Laredo.

A Customs and Border Protection officer referred the car, driven by a 40-year-old Mexican woman, to a secondary inspection. During the search, the meth was found with an estimated street value of $992,070.

“I congratulate our frontline officers for their firm commitment to carry out the CBP mission and protect the public from illegal narcotics,” said Port Director Albert Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.

The drugs were taken and the driver was arrested and processed for further investigation.
