State troopers arrested a motorcyclist accused of leading them on a chase before crashing into a grassy ditch, injuring a woman who was riding with him.

DPS troopers say they tried to pull the rider over on the South Side for speeding, but he refused to stop.

Instead, the suspect sped off and led troopers on a chase along I-37 before heading east on I-10. He eventually lost control and crashed along I-10 near FM 1516, said troopers.

A woman who was riding with him was tossed from the motorcycle; she suffered a broken leg and severe road rash. She was taken to a hospital and troopers say she was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcyclist was arrested and faces charges.
