One person is in the hospital with major injuries after being shot during a robbery Sunday afternoon.

The incident happened at the Saddlewood Apartments at 2500 block of NE Loop 410 at about 2:15 p.m.

Police said a man invited over some friends he met through Instagram over to play video games. When they got to the apartment, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and "demanded property," according to police. An argument then ensued and someone pulled out a gun, shooting the victim in the stomach. It's unclear if the person shot was the robbery victim or another suspect.

Three suspects, described as being in their late teens or early 20s, stole money and fled the scene wearing black hoodies. The victim was transported to University Hospital in critical condition. He is only described as being around the same age as the suspects.

Officers said it's unknown if the incident was drug-related, but drug paraphernalia was found in the apartment.

This is the second reported shooting in the area in the past two days. On Friday, two people were shot at an apartment just down the street. Lauren Villarreal, 26, was killed while the other suspect, 40-year-old Jose Villarreal is expected to survive. Two 15-year-olds were charged in the shooting. One of the teens was charged with murder and aggravated assault and the other was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. Their identities were not released due to their age.
