KIRBY, Texas - A homeowner shot a man who apparently threw a potted plant through the window of a home on Monday night.

The incident happened at a house along Happiness Lane, near Binz-Engleman Road and Crest Lane, as the two men argued outside.

The homeowner told police he feared for his life and fired the shot to scare the other man away. Instead, the shot ended up hitting the man.

Officials tell us they believe this is connection to another case, in which a stolen truck was found nearby. In the case, several individuals on an ATV were arrested and charged.

At the time, officials say they had detained all but one, who they believe may be the man who threw the plant through the window Monday.

The homeowner has been interviewed and no charges have been filed, yet.

The injured man's condition is unknown.

    The investigation is ongoing.
