SAN ANTONIO - A man is facing capital murder charges for a man's shooting death late last month at a Southside car wash.

Anthony Guzman, 27, has been arrested for the May 27 killing of Vicente Zurita, 54, at a car wash on Commercial Ave.

Zurita's body was discovered around 9:30 p.m. lying in one of the car wash stalls with several gunshot wounds.

Life-saving measures were performed, but Zurita was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Guzman and a teen accomplice were seen trying to rob Zurita while he washed his car. Investigators say Guzman tried to take his vehicle by force while the armed 16-year-old tried to take his money.

The teen was arrested shortly afterwards and was found to have a gun in his waistband, police said.

Two more witnesses were later located and through their statements, police were able to identify Guzman as the other suspect.
