Students who were days away from graduating with their degrees will now have to figure out their next step after learning Brightwood College would be closing permanently.

A flyer posted on the door of the school on Wednesday stated that classes for vocational nursing, paralegal, medical assistant and nursing aides were canceled.

Students who were taking classes for Medical Assistant Diploma, Medical Billing, and Coding Diploma will still have an opportunity to take their final examinations.

Brightwood College is located along Loop 410 at Ingram and along San Pedro Avenue, just south of Loop 410.

Students we spoke with said they showed up for class as though it were a normal day. At some point during the morning, the students were huddled into another room, where they were told the school would be closing.

The students said there was a problem with school's accreditation. A representative for the campus did not provide a comment.
