Lack of Innovation and high price point result in low demand for iPhone X

SAN ANTONIO - Analysts have lowered iPhone X sales expectations for the first quarter of next year, citing signs of lackluster demand at the end of the holiday shopping season. JL Warren Capital says the drop reflects weak demand because of the iPhone X’s high price point and a lack of interesting innovation. Customers seem to be opting for cheaper models of the iPhone, according to Cowen & Company, which says that apple failed to cram enough new technology into the iPhone X to justify a $999 price tag.

Day After Christmas Shopping
Historically, it’s a shopping bonanza on the day after Christmas. Kohls and Walmart open at 5 am today. JC Penney, Toys R Us and Old Navy throw open their doors at 6. Most other stores open at 8 or 9.

Online Dating
Online dating is growing in popularity among single and divorced individuals in their 50s and older. The Pew Research Center says the number of those over 55 using online dating has doubled since 2013. A study at the University of Texas at Austin found older adults prioritize social connections, good health and positive emotional experiences in their dating profiles.

California is preparing to legalize marijuana on January 1. Some say once it’s legal in California, it’s just a matter of time until other states follow suit. Businesses are required to have a local permit and a state license to sell pot for recreational purposes. Also, legal cannabis won’t be allowed to be smoked in public.
