SAN ANTONIO -- A San Antonio Independent School District high school was placed on lockdown due to a threat made against a student.

Travis Early College High School was placed on lockdown shortly before 11 a.m. , but no details were released. San Antonio Police Department spokesperson. Officer Doug Greene later said they were notified by San Antonio ISD Police and San Antonio College Police about a possible threat to one of the students at the school. Greene said the student received text messages from an individual who said he was going to come to the school with a weapon and assault the student.

SAPD then had multiple officers respond. Officers made contact with the individual who reported made the threats. Officer Greene said the individual was cooperative, came down to the school with some relatives, and was taken into custody.

A San Antonio ISD spokeperson later confirmed the school was placed on lockdown as a precaution and that the individual accused of sending the threatening text messages was the student's former boyfriend.

The San Antonio ISD will now take over the investigation and determine if any charges need to be filed.
