One person found dead in fire on Southwest Side
SAN ANTONIO -- Firefighters are battling an apartment fire on the city's Southwest Side.
Fire crews were called to the 100 block of Camelot Court, near Roselawn Road and South General McMullen Drive, around 4:30 p.m. Authorities said a man who lived in one of the units was dead inside when they arrived to the scene.
San Antonio fire department chief Charles Hood Said heavy flames were showing through the roof and attic, though he isn't sure how many units were damaged. Red Cross is at the apartment complex because 10 residents are displaced tonight.
Hood said it's too soon to tell what started the fire. He called the man's death a "tragic loss," adding that it could've been much worse given the wind and weather.
