Family announces funeral arrangements for 6-year-old killed in deputy-involved shooting

SCHERTZ, Texas - The family of the 6-year-old boy killed in a deputy-involved shooting Thursday announced funeral arrangements.

The visitiation for Kameron Prescott, 6, will be held Wednesday Dec. 27 at the Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Prescott's funeral is slated for Dec. 28 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Universal City.

A celebration lunch at 1 p.m. will follow the funeral.

Prescott was inside his home Thursday when he was struck at least once in the abdomen by a stray bullet after four deputies fired at a wanted felon. Amanda Lee Jones, 30, also was killed in the shooting. She was a wanted felon, who spent five years in prison according to jail records.

The family set up the Kameron Prescott Memorial Fund to help pay for expenses. Donations will be accepted at the two Schertz Bank and Trust branches or by mail.
