SAN ANTONIO - Deputies arrested a woman accused of leading them on a high speed chase late Wednesday night.

The chase began as a traffic stop near South Park Mall on Southwest Military Drive at about 10:20 p.m. That's when a deputy pulled the woman over. As he approached the SUV's window, she drove off and turned onto South Zarzamora Street.

Deputies say she hit speeds of 90 miles per hour and ran several red lights until she hit a dead end road near North Elmendorf and Kentucky on the West Side.

The suspect was taken into custody and faces charges of evading arrest, possession of a controlled substance and reckless driving.
