SAN ANTONIO — Six children and two adults safely escaped an early morning fire at their East Side home on Wednesday.
According to fire crews, flames erupted at the house on South Walters, near I-10, shortly before 6 a.m.
By the time firefighters arrived, the family of eight was already out. They were unhurt.
Investigators say a malfunctioning water heater could be the cause of the fire. There was extensive damage to a few rooms of the house.
