Cold front expected to bring heavy rain to South Texas; flash flood watch issued
SAN ANTONIO —
Light drizzle and a few showers across South Texas were expected to cover the Thursday morning commute, but weather experts warned a major rain event would hit the area on Friday.
The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Watch set to take effect Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.
A strong storm from the west will bring plenty of rain to South Texas on Friday; the heaviest rainfall is expected Friday afternoon through Friday night. Pockets of heavier rainfall could produce flooding of low water crossings.
The rain is part of a cold front moving through the region which will result in lower temperatures over the weekend.
