Civilian that works with the sheriff’s office arrested on assault charges
SAN ANTONIO - A civilian that works for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office has been arrest on a charge of ‘aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,’ a second-degree felony – and ‘assault bodily injury,’ class A misdemeanor.
Daniella Velia Garcia, 27, was arrested at about 1 a.m. Friday. She has been employed by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office since August 2017.
Garcia is currently assigned to video visitation as a civilian security monitor and will be placed on unpaid administrative leave pursuant to rules of the BCSO civil service commission.
BCSO Internal Affairs will be conducting a separate but concurrent administrative investigation, pending further criminal investigation of the case by SAPD.
