Christmas festival-goer stabbed in neck, police search for two suspects

    The San Marcos Police Department said it is searching for two suspects believed to be responsible for a stabbing at the Sights and Sounds of Christmas event in San Marcos on Wednesday night.

    According to new information released by the agency, officers at the event found a festival-goer who had been stabbed in the neck near the basketball courts in City park.

    He was taken to a hospital where he underwent surgery.

    Police at the scene said they identified two possible suspects after speaking to witnesses.

    "We believe there was an existing disagreement between these individuals that resulted in this incident occurring," said Chief of Police Chase Stapp. "The public should feel confident to attend and bring their families to the final three nights of Sights and Sounds and enjoy a safe and festive night of fun."
