Border Patrol agents seize more than $675,000 worth of meth at South Texas bridge

    LAREDO, Texas -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations officers arrested a Mexican citizen at a border port of entry after finding a large drug load in his vehicle on Monday.

    It happened at the Juarez-International Bridge when officers referred the 37-year-old man from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico for secondary inspection. During the search, officers found 23 packages of about 34 pounds of meth within his Chevy Malibu, according to a news release. The drug load was estimated at about $679,457.

    The drugs were seized and the driver was arrested.
