SAN ANTONIO - A big rig carrying mangoes overturned and spilled its fruit all over on the South West Side Thursday night.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. on Interstate 35 South near Loop 1604.
Police said the driver was taking the exit to 1604 when he lost control of the 18-wheeler and went into the grassy median where the truck overturned.
Emergency crews had to cut the driver out of the truck. He was transported to University Hospital with head and back injuries.
During the accident, the roof of the truck ripped off spilling the mangoes all over the highway.
